Nags Head Elementary School

 I am excited to be at NHES for the second year, and this is my 33rd year teaching.  Would you believe I was born at a hospital by LA Harbor on the edge of the Pacific Ocean, and here I am living on edge of the Atlantic?  I started teaching EC students in Arizona with my degree in Elementary Ed and Special Education from Northern Arizona University, but soon wanted to know more about teaching reading.  I earned a Master's degree as a Reading Specialist from Arizona State University. After my husband and I moved to northern Virginia, I earned another Masters in Education Leadership from George Mason University. Here in Dare County, I continue to love teaching and learning new things.

Other things I enjoy are reading a good novel (of course), gardening, giving my dogs a good run next to my bike, and playing at the beach.
